NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Dec. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) today announced it is forming a new joint venture with a subsidiary of the Inspur Group, a Chinese cloud computing and data center company, to develop, manufacture and distribute financial self-service solutions in China. Inspur will hold a majority stake of 51 percent in the new joint venture, which will be named Inspur Financial Information Systems, Ltd. The joint venture will offer a complete range of self-service terminals within the Chinese market, including automated teller machines (ATMs). Also, Diebold will serve as the exclusive distributor outside of China for all products developed by the new joint venture, which will be sold under the Diebold brand.
In addition, to support Diebold’s services-led approach to the market, Inspur will acquire a minority share of Diebold’s current China joint venture. Moving forward, this business will be focused on providing a whole suite of services including installation, maintenance, professional and managed services related to ATMs and other automated transaction solutions.
Inspur Group is an $8 billion Chinese multinational information technology provider headquartered in Jinan, Shandong,China, with more than 70 years in business. The company specializes in IT hardware and software, and is a leading self-service kiosk manufacturer for major financial institutions in China. Upon closing the agreement, Diebold will appoint a chairman of the new joint venture, while Inspur will appoint a chief executive officer for the business to lead day-to-day operations. The agreement is anticipated to be finalized in mid-2016, pending regulatory and other approvals, with plans to begin manufacturing and distribution activity immediately after regulatory approvals.

Covering an area of 20,000 square meters, the iFair Show attracted more than 250 exhibitors and over 22,000 visitors. The show attracted 22,077 visitors from 77 different countries and regions, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, Singapore, the USA, the Philippines, Australia, Russia, UAE,Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Egypt, Canada, Israel, Italy, Spain, Germany,Belgium and Poland.
Among the attendees, 19,869 were from China and 2,208 from abroad. The number of visitors had increased by 91%, hitting a historical high together with the number of countries. This was the first session of the iFair Show organized by Shanghai UBM after acquisition. The success of iFair 2015 was also a demonstration of Shanghai UBM’s strong soft power, which includes professionalism, diverse experience and high-quality service.
Of all overseas visitors, 52.6% were from Asia (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), 17.8% were from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, 14.3% were from Europe, 5.4% were from North America, 3.5% were from South America, 3.3% were from Africa, and 3% were from Oceania. The top 20 countries and regions were Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Russia, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, Singapore, the USA, the Philippines, Australia, the UAE, Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Egypt andPakistan.

During the Awards Ceremony, nine prizes were presented, including prizes for the Most Innovative Vending Machines, the Top Ten Professional Managers, Personalities of 2014 in the Chinese Vending Industry, and Lifetime Contribution Award in the Chinese Vending Industry.
