The site’s launch in 2014 was made possible primarily through the joint sponsorship of SiteKiosk (Provisio) and Ron Bowers at Frank Mayer and Associates, who encouraged the funding and organization of the initial “Industry Group”. These founding companies eventually formed the core of the Kiosk Manufacturer Association (KMA), which remains headquartered in Denver, Colorado.​

The startup funding was provided by kiosk software company Sitekiosk. Encouragement and coaching was by Ron Bowers of Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc.
