President and Founder James Kruper started ADSI with wife and partner Gina Kruper in 1991. Together, they have built a business focused on employee and customer satisfaction above all else.
ADSI is most often referred to as “KioWare”, the primary software product produced by the company. KioWare is kiosk system software to lockdown your Android or Windows Device, with KioCloud, an online kiosk management subscription SAAS, to manage your kiosks. Continuing in the manner in which we started, ADSI (dba KioWare), also offers custom software kiosk app development – building custom applications to integrate and deploy with KioWare’s out of the box kiosk software.
Jim Kruper believes, “It is KioWare’s focus on people that has made our business grow and thrive. Our success can be measured in how genuinely we care about our employees, customers, and community.”
Our commitment to the York area extends beyond the business with both Jim & Gina Kruper serving on the Corporate Board of Directors at the York YMCA, as well as participating in a plethora of York community service activities like the YorIt Initiative.
KioWare has customers in over 110 countries, and has sold to over 8,000 organizations in every vertical market including government, banks, healthcare, education, retail, and more, since the product’s inception 13 years ago. With an international presence, and a satellite office in England, KioWare continues to build on the customer focused product development & technical support integral to our mission.

TSI Healthcare, a national leader in the sales and support of customized NextGen® Practice Management and Electronic Health Record solutions, announced a partnership with OTech Group LLC. This partnership will deliver the next level of patient care to its providers with in-practice patient kiosks.
Walmart made April Hubbard’s day by replacing its perpetually backed up do-it-yourself checkout lanes this month with six express registers staffed by real people.
A negative story on self-checkout machines and Walmart, Winn Dixie and Albertsons. This story seems to come out like clockwork. WD and Albertsons have always balked at self-service, same as Safeway. Meanwhile the growing chains do offer that option (Kroger for example). I don’t think Walmart has pulled any machines though I am sure they are experimenting with express lines. I give this story content 3 out of 5 stars.

QSR kiosks are big these days and the poster child might be Paneras actually though for sure McDonalds “once again into the fray” efforts bring a lot of attention (ditto for Wendy’s and others). Good quote from Olea and good article.
The city plans to install nearly 8,000 of the kiosks across the five boroughs in the next seven years. About 400 are currently up and running, mostly on Third and Eighth avenues in Manhattan
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– A safe, easy way to get rid of your prescription drugs is now available at several Walgreens locations in the state. The medication disposal kiosks allow people to throw away unwanted, unused or expired medications.
Top patent court almost never makes bad actors pay. Supremes see it differently.
Craig Keefner‘s insight:
This result will be good news to many tech companies that believe they are regularly attacked with meritless patent cases. A lower standard for fee-shifting would allow them to get some leverage against the non-practicing patent owners sometimes known as “patent trolls.”

The technology behind self-service, self-payment and choice has begun to infiltrate the food and beverage world in a way that is irreversible and all-encompassing, saving labor, time and money for the operator. Having iPads on the table to pick up, browse, and enter your order means you no longer have a waiter. You simply have a delivery to your table.

Health kiosk startup higi has merged with Stayhealthy, another mobile health company that also has a health kiosk business. The two announced the merger last week.
What is unique in the Stayhealthy HealthCenter approach goes beyond the kiosk hardware,” Collins said at the time. “Anyone can make a blood pressure machine or health station. It’s the science and research behind the solution, and our bundling of both the hardware and software technologies into a HIPAA and ADA-compliant, Web-enabled and user friendly total wellness management system that is unique. This is what the average consumer is looking for in today’s consumer-driven healthcare environment.”
The newly merged company will have 6,000 kiosks, with contracts for 10,000 by the beginning of 2015.
