Hospitality kiosk – Caesars Introduces Kiosks in Las Vegas

Guests checking into select Las Vegas hotels can now bypass the counter and check into their room without having to wait in line or interact with a human.

Earlier this month, Caesars Entertainment announced the launch of the first fully-integrated self check-in program in Vegas at The LINQ Hotel & Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, and Caesars Palace.

The program utilizes kiosks that allow guests to swipe their ID and payment card in exchange for a printed room key. If the room isn’t ready, users will receive an alert via email when it becomes available, at which point they can return to the kiosk to claim their key.

Caesars called it the “latest stage in a technology solution to completely automate the check-in process,” with the goal being to reduce lines and cut down on guests’ wait times.

In a statement, Caesars Entertainment’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Tariq Shaukat said “the launch of self check-in now joins the ranks of already successful innovation for our resorts such as eKey keyless entry at The Cromwell and our ‘play by Total Rewards’ app.”

Much like similar kiosk setups at airports and rental car offices, the new technology will undoubtedly simplify the check-in and check-out process for guests. However some are likely to still feel more comfortable interacting with hotel staff at the front desk. For now, that option remains.

Looking ahead, Caesars plans to install the self-check-in kiosks at each of its other five Las Vegas hotel-casino resorts โ€” including Planet Hollywood and Rio โ€” later this year.
