These clever kiosks are popping up in airports all over America. They offer movie rental downloads in less than three minutes, allowing you to watch on the plane without need for an Internet connection.

Fast Company says that Digiboo’s kiosks are able to do such fast downloads thanks to Wi-Fi router that works “significantly faster than most Internet networks provided by airports.” The file size for an average movie is between 1 and 1.5 gigabytes. Digiboo super-fast routers will transfer 1.3 gigabytes in less than three minutes.

Many airports in the midwest already have Digiboo kiosks, with the company expecting to place 2,000 of them before the end of 2016. The Digiboo app is available for iOS, Android and Windows devices.

Kiosk Printer – Epson Solves Most Annoying Problem With Inkjet Printers

Is this the end of the dreaded printer cartridge?

Source: www.bloomberg.com

Inkjet printer cartridges have been the bane of many small businesses and home offices for decades. It’s interesting, then, that Epson is trying something new: next month, they’re launching a new line of printers that come with small tanks of ink, instead of cartridges. The tanks will be refilled using bottles of ink. They’re reversing the economics, here: the printer itself will be more expensive, but the refills will be much cheaper. Early reports claim you’ll be spending a tenth as much on ink as you were before, but we’ll see how that shakes out. The Bloomberg article makes a good point: it’s never been easier to not print things. The printer industry needs to innovate if it wants us to keep churning out printed documents, and this may be the first big step.
